Photoshoot Planning

Within my photo’s I want my photography to stand out from competitors, in my case I will use sex and rock as a symbol. In my shoots I will brief Holly (the model) on how I plan on having my images.

I will use Holly as a model who will wear all black, except from the fur on her coat to emphasise her body. This will be for my front cover, hopefully this will attract more people to the ‘sex symbol’ Holly -which will hopefully be a huge selling point for my magazine. I will emphasise the colour taking the images in the photography studio with a plain background and in order to contrast with the background Holly will wear jet black, to emphasise the indie/rock look.

Her makeup will also be gothic on the front cover, and for the double page spread images she will wear similar clothing in order to allow the images to match. However, I will keep her makeup gothic/indie so my readers can relate to the model and it will help them focus on her facial expression about ‘music’. I will keep Holly’s clothing dark/gothic and have her with a cigarette for the front cover and for my double page spread have her doing a 'middle finger up' gesture to help relate to article. By following my photo-shoot plan I hope that everything runs successfully and I produce excellent images which will help me make a high-class magazine. 

Main Task Flat Plan and Written Rationale

 

Below are images of my final flat plans, these will help me with the delevopment of my magazine by using them as a guidance to follow. In order to delevop my computing skills, I used both Photoshop and Microsoft Publisher.

 

 

 

Above is my my front cover flat plan which I produced on Photoshop, in order to delevop my skills for when I produce my final magazine. I have tried to keep the layout quite simple yet different in order to catch my reader's attention. I plan on having three coverlines with one main coverline, and as shown above, I will have a main image and the essential information will be besides the name of my magazine. This is so readers will notice this whilst buying it. My main image will be of either a single person/band from a birds-eyed angle forcusing directly on them.  

 

 

 

Above is my contents page flat plan which I produced on Microsoft Publisher, like my front cover I will keep the layout simple in order for my readers to navigate easily. Down the left hand side I will have three images relating to the arcticles which will be included in my magazine. One of these images will include a picture I have taken from previous gigs/festivals. Down the right hand side I will have the list of things which will be included in my magazine as well as the obvious, page numbers. My masthead will be located at the top of the page which I have seen in many magazines, I believe this will be a great selling point for my magazine.  

 

 

 

Like my previous image I have used Microsoft Publisher again simply for the fact it's quicker which gives me more time to focus on my main magazine. On my double page spread I will have one coverline, this including one large main image on the left hand side and a caption underneath. This is so my magazine can flow a lot easier for the reader. By having an interview and an arcticle my target audience will be able to relate a lot more to my magazine, as they have two things to keep them interested in. The colour scheme of all of the above will follow an indie/rock type scheme and have only three fonts used. In order to keep it looking professional and tidy.
